Blogger Widgets
Friday, February 02, 2007
Seems like everything has widgets or customization today, and upon opening the front page of Blogger this morning at the track meet, I noticed the news post about widgets. Blogger actually has widgets, Wordpress may have plugins but blogger having widgets is a step in te right direction, since Blogger is not as open a platform as Wordpress. Anyone use them yet? I saw they had a FeedBurner widget, which displays the stats of your feeds. Looks very impressive, well, for Blogger.
Anyone have any opinions? They just following the crowd or trying to innovate? Post away,

New Template, upgraded for 2007
Tuesday, January 09, 2007
Yea I've upgraded from the Andreas02 template I've been using, I lost my blog roll (temporarily) and my links that I had on the side. Don't worry they'll be back, I'm going to change the labels into a cloud format which should look MUCH better.
Thanks for your patience, and comments are welcome.
Edit 11:10PM
I managed the switch fine, I may lose some of the nice little things of the Andreas02 layout but I gain a much cleaner layout and the Label Cloud. I got my Blog Roll back, I'm just going to have to manually add the rest, but so far I'm liking it.
Post your thoughts!

Updates for my template coming
Saturday, December 23, 2006
Hey it's crappy weather here in montreal, freezing rain and it's unusually warm for this time of year, which makes for a green Christmas in Montreal. I can't run cuz it's too slippery and i'm stuck inside.
So I've found out that the great guys at Geckoandfly have finally (joking) updated the template I used for the newer version of blogger. They posted it HERE so I'm going to try to mix their code with my edits and see what comes out.
Wish me luck!

Addicted to my new video game and Blogger
Wednesday, December 20, 2006
Yea sorry guys I haven't blogged as much as I've been wanting too, I can't seem to pull myself away from Day of Defeat:Source. For those who don't know, Day of Defeat:Source or known to most as DOD:S is a highly addicting fast paced game based on WWII where people fight to control the map via flags and kill your opponents. It's simple, fun and addicting. I used to run a clan or group of players for the original Day of Defeat for the HL1 engine (DOD:S is on the second HL2 engine) and I've loved the game since then and finally got an upgrade.
Btw I've noticed that Blogger's out of all the beta's, which is good so I don't have to type beta.blogger.com, good for it, keeping my life simple while introducing new features is great.
Alright off to more DOD:Source, later!

My rant on Digg and random things
Monday, October 30, 2006
I'm all for Digg, it's got great user generated content via it's voting system and I love it. However lately I've been finding a lot of crappier stories, such as the guy who thinks his MacBook Pro is cheaper than a Dell or an HD, in Australia. He doesn't mention this until you read the blog and find that out and since he applies all the educational discounts Apple has. Maybe he should've looked for a coupon code or a dell for the Dell, I've never onced paid retail for a Dell product.
Anyways I didn't have class tonight so I had the chance to go to the library of my own free will and finish my homework. It takes everything for me to get away from a computer these days. I really think I'm addicted. I also need to get better on taking my pills, I have them in my wallet and I keep forgetting to take them. Oh well.
Lastly I don't think I'll be able to have a nice Labels section on my sidebar, since I still have all the old blogger code. I might have to change my layout, but I'll wait a bit until Blogger's new interface comes out of Beta or until I find a new theme that works well with the Beta, since I like this one. Alright enough for now, time to relax.

Trying to intergrate the Labels onto my sidebar
Since I used a different template then the Blogger Beta I'm having trouble adding the new Label code to the sidebar. I put up some javascript that it supposed to show them in various ways however it doesn't seem to work right now. Is there any other way to get Labels in the Blogger Beta WITHOUT having to use a stock template? I guess more googling is in order. Btw I'd like to mention that Payperpost is a featured story on Adage.com, even if some of the information is incorrect. Forget all the naysayers, I love payperpost and at least they care about being clear about what we're doing (we're not shills people, god). Check out the article here.

Testing the new blogger BETA
Sunday, October 29, 2006
I've always passed on joining the Blogger Beta but since I'm looking to add Labels and caterogies I decided on a whim to test it out. Hopefully this won't destroy my template, luckily I saved it on a text file JUST IN CASE. Blogger hasn't had a good last couple of weeks so we'll see how it fares with the new Beta. Anyone else using the Beta? Opinions?
