If any of you love going to sport events, playing PSP, or love Arsenal (I fit into all 3 categories) then this bit of news from Pocket-Lint will interest you. The full article at Pocket-Lint states that Sony is beginning a plan to stream live football/soccer replays directly to your PSP. Now that's some great technology. Imagine missing a goal while you were getting a drink, or wanted to see if that penalty was really a foul or not, and see how many goals Thierry Henry has scored.
They're testing the technology at Emirates Stadium (the home of the London based Arsenal Football club) with about 4000 fans but I hope it gets around, and makes the jump across the pond into North America.

Rumble on the PS3 - God of War 2 release

If you've played the original God of War for the PS2 then youll know how good that game was and you've been waiting for the release of God of War 2. Well that day has come today but with that annoucement that the PS3 will have a new controller with Rumble confirmed on Joystiq. This is good new for you PS3 owners, or those like me who are thinking of getting one in the future.
By the way, I'm holding off on my next-gen console purchases, since I just got another slim ps2 and I got all the games I need on it.
Who's played God Of War here? Liked it? Speak your thoughts about that or the rumble function on controllers.

Sorry I've been missing in Miami! - Pics of the SonyEricsson K850i
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I've been in Miami for Spring Break since Saturday, and Thursday/Friday last week were really crazy days. That's why I haven't been up to date with the tech scene, even with the Game Developer Expo and the PMA (Camera Maker) show going on.
Since I've been missing, I should show you guys a scoop that Engadget has, on a new phone that's yet to be announced or released. It's the SonyEricsson K850i, and it's got a nice 5mp camera, UMTS-3G, 640x480 front video camera, usual other specs. Here's a pic, nice isn't it?
Yep I'll try to post more this week, it's tough without my computer, stealing laptops isn't always fun.

Holidays and Long Weekends

Hey guys, sorry for the missing couple of days, it's been a little rough since my friends come down to NYC for the weekends.
Not too much tech news I followed this weekend since I was busy. I did visit the Sony Store on Madison and 56th St and went to the Sony Technology Wonder Lab. It's great for kids but not the place for older people.
I'll catch back up to date on this holiday Monday, more to follow!

Yea Mondays are the worst for me, I'm litterally non-stop from 7am until 8pm, so by the time I get home I'm pretty much done. Oh yea, you guys want some news don't you?
Well the most interesting thing I've found today was this picture of a comet on Flickr. It's McNaughts Comet in Australia, it's a really beautiful shot under some trees overlooking a lake. I don't want to steal the author's thunder so I'll just have you guys click there yourselves.
Other interesting news is that Sony's profits may be down 50% due to poor PS3 sales, which shouldn't help Sony in its cause. Also a piece from Gizmodo on the new 120hz HDTV's that are going to be coming out soon, which promise to help improve image quality drastically by dealing with the 24fps limit placed on movies. Interesting read.
Alright enough for now, more later as I find it, btw I'll have some Vista coverage tomorrow, so stay tuned.

I know I should be getting ready but there's just too much funny stuff online and I gotta post about it. I'm amazed that the demand for the Wii hasn't dropped off that much yet, whereas the PS3 is much easier to get. I found 2 stores with PS3's, quite easily, whereas none has Wii's.
To further illustrate my point look at tihs survery. 75 Calls per day for a Wii, 2 for a PS3 from a gamestore employee, pretty funny to see how Sony only thinks the Wii is a "mild upgrade" and only for little kids.

Yea I've been spending my first day full day in NYC taking care of business, you know, going to work, going to practice, talking to my other boss for my library job. Basic bs that everyone has to attend to.
I've been thinking over the holidays of what my next big purchase is going to be. I have my cell phone, got everything I needed/wanted for Christmas (more later on that, I promise) and am pretty happy. Guess I just need something to look forward to getting. I wanted a next-gen console since Xbox360's been out and I was looking into getting a 360 but I realize how many PS2 games I still have and still actively play. So instead of buying both a ps2 and a 360 I might as well go PS3 and knock both out.
Yea I'm still not 100% but I'm really looking into it, what you guys think? what next-gen console you want? ps3, xbox360 or wii? Post your thoughts.

Speculation on PS4

PS3 is barely out in stores and already people are calling for the downfall of the PS4 for Sony. Most people know that the pioneer of the PS3, Ken Kutaragi, was removed as president from Sony's head of entertainment, which is basically the head of Playstation, and replaced by Kaz Hirai, the head of the US division. What this analyst shows is that Microsoft can afford to sell an Xbox360 for 50$ and make the same amount of loss as a PS3, which is pretty interesting, and unless Sony start's really smoothing relationships with publishers they're going to become like Sega, a software company.
Pretty strong claims from the article at BoomTown HERE. What do you think? Can the PS3 survive and flourish enough for a PS4? Time will tell I guess but I don't think a PS4 can take such losses like this again.

Yep just read over the Kotaku.com (great video game news site, on par with Joystick.com) that they've managed to rip a copy of Madden '07 using the onboard linux that you can use on the PS3. I think it's only a matter of days, not weeks, before we can execute backups since they say the structure is like the PSP and we all know about the PSP hacks that are out there, lol. (If you don't type PSP Homebrew in google)

Up to take information on next generation Console Sales
Thought you guys might like this site where they show an update sales figure for each next generation console. Pretty interesting looking at the numbers, with only 300,000 total PS3's sold, well short of their 400,000 stated initial goal. As well I thought they're would be more Wii's out there, but it's still a LOT more than the PS3's.
As you can see the Xbox360 still has a comfortable lead on both consoles but we'll see what happens once production for the 2 other consoles start picking up.
My predictions are Nintendo 1, Microsft 2 and Sony 3 with each having 40/30/30 market share. We'll see in a year if I'm right.

Found this pretty interesting on Digg so I might as well share it. There's a story on 2old2play.com where Taco Bell is having a promotion/fundraiser to the first person that sells them their PS3 will get $12,500 worth of Taco Bell credit. That's a LOT of tacos my friends, lol. The PS3 they will have one will go to the Boys and Girls club of America, so it's for a good cause and it's always nice to see. Pretty interesting propesition if you have a PS3 and love taco bell, lol.

I witness my friend making $1000 for a spot in line at Best Buy for a PS3 and I thought to my self, even if I was working all day how much more would've I have made if I got into line and waited for 2 days, lol. Yep there's stories everywhere on the net about the PS3 rush that occured last night into this morning, how some people got shot by a BB gun while waiting, fights breaking out, the event launch parties at Sony in NYC and in San Francisco, etc.
Here's the Engadget converage most of you won't see HERE. Can't say I didn't see it coming, lol.

Sticking with the video game theme for tonight I was just reading on TGdaily about the people who've been lined up for a PS3 since LAST WEEK. Yep that's right, last week. Kind of a crazy if you ask me but then again some people are VERY addicted to their video games or electronics (yes I know I am in SOME aspects). Well those guys in Burbank California were kicked off the Best Buy property. Makes sense since it's pretty nuts to line up for a week before the launch, it's only a gaming system guys (then again I'm biased since I sold my PS2 and think PS3 is overrated for now).

Unpacking the PS3 and Wii

Since about every news site has this URL linked too and since these 2 systems are coming out next week I might as well share them as well. Gizmodo has the Wii and PS3 final unpackaging, I might say the PS3 box looks nice, but the thing is a brick in size. The Wii has plain packaging but it's so small that it don't really matter.

Can't get a Wii or a PS3? Get a gyroscopic controller for your PS2/PC

I know there's been a lot of talk and buzz about the Wii's controller that's motion sensing and the PS3 SIXAXIS (forget the exact acronym) controller where they have some tilt-action gaming going on. Well PS2 and Pc owners can finally rejoice, there's some motion sensing controllers out there for them too. The controller is called the G-Pad Pro, and after seeing it, I think anyone looking for a Playstation controller or gamepad should take a lot. It's got a gyrpscopic sensor inside the controller so you can use the controller to move left/right/up/down just by turning it in those directions. There's no software or drivers needed. Pretty cool idea if you ask me, bring some of that next-gen goodness to other systems. It's also got macros for those long button keypresses, which is a great thing to have in those games where you're forced to hit a button repeatedly for no reason or enter a complex key sequence. They've even got a couple of YouTube videos showing off the controller HERE and someone playing GT4 with the controller HERE. Take a look its not that bad. I'd recommend anyone still with a ps2 looking for a gift or a new controller to take a look. Check out the G-Pad Pro product page here.

I saw a PS3 live at Digitallife'06, some people were playing the NBA Live'07 on it, pretty impressive, but next to my slim ps2 it feels like they're taking a step backwards. It looks like a slick Xbox. To me the curves don't hide the bulk. I guess the card reader is a nice touch, but I feel they might've thrown it in to cover up some of the empty space on the front due to the size of the thing. Engadget went to SCEA HQ near San Fran to get a head-on with it and take a video. I just wished it was smaller and less expensive, there's no way I'm spending 600$ on a console, forget it.
