USB LCD Monitors and top 10 Gmail tips

Yep, as per usual, stuck at the library on a Wednesday night. Nothing good happening online right now, but there's a couple of sites of interest for you guys.
1) There's a list of Top 10 Gmail Tips and Hacks at the Download Squad blog. Pretty interesting tips for the powerusers out there. Most of these tips don't apply to 90% of the people who use Gmail, but for those who are on it 24/7, they can help you out a lot, so enjoy.
2) Samsung's releasing a USB monitor at CeBit this year, and of course my friends at Engadget have the scoop via PC World. IT'll be interesting for those with laptops without dedicated VGA outputs or DVI or both but I wonder how much processing power that these computers will need to put everything onto USB.
There's my 2 tidbits for right now, more later as I get more bored.

I finally have some love from the PR gods at Google

Remember that rant I had a couple of days ago I ranted about how MyBlogLog page had a higher PR than my blog, well the tide has turned and you'll see that my blog FINALLY has some PR. I know it's only a PR of 2 but c'mon my blog deserves a little love.
If anyone wants to participate in some link exchanges, or a review, or some other form of partnership and promotion let me know!

What the heck is up with Google's PR?

As many of you have noticed, I have a nice little Widget from MyBlogLog.com on the sidebar of my blog, to show who's visited, get me some stats, those kinds of things. I was just checking it out earlier tonight, then went to my profile, and looked up to the Google toolbar I have installed in Firefox. It gave my MyBlogLog.com profile page (http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/members/DaSnipe/) a PR of 2. Notice the PR of this page? Yep, ZERO, now how does that make sense?
Either Google has no idea what it's doing with PR (which I think is partially true even if I'm wrong), or all the profile pages on MyBlogLog.com have the same PR. Something's fishy, Google I want some PR, or at least some consistency. Is that hard to ask.
Anyone can step in and clarify the situation? SEO ranking and PR aren't my cup of tea, I just dabble with them, just want some love for the blog.

Anymore product launches today?

Today was a pretty dam busy day for tech news. To go along with my nice PS3 news and my Quad-Core discussion I have more product/site launches for the day.
The first is the Gmail for Mobile application, allowing users to download a Java application for their mobile phone to download their gmail, view attachments (including MS Word docs and PDF's) and not have to deal with the annoying ways to get online through your phone browser. It's on the Gmail.com front page, check it out at http://www.gmail.com. The download link for your phone is there.
The second is the Official Zune website at http://www.zune.net. You've no doubt hear about Microsoft's competitor to the iPod, Zune, and honestly I want it to work out at least decently for them. Competition is good, can open up the standards and maybe lower prices on all DAP's (yes I know the irony of monopolies and Microsoft). They got some decent info and things like theme's on their site. It won't play mpg's or avi's so I don't if I'll get it yet, at least until there's homebrew or something, but we'll see things turn up for the Zune.
Alright enough tech news or news, time to play some games,

Should Microsoft buy Yahoo to compete with Google in searches?

I just saw a link on Digg that's pretty interesting. Yahoo's shares and advertising revenue has dropped but they still hold the number 2 search engine rank and the largest base of registered members so it's still a nice company. The basis of the acquisition would be to build advertising share for its MSN Money since it's growth is only like 5% compared to the 26% of the rest of the industry, but it would benefit from all the other Yahoo assets. I think it would make Microsoft a much better competitor to Google, but it would be tough to fight Google on ALL those fronts, and it would be expensive, costly at least 10 billion or something IIRC. It would be all out war, lol.

Shady things behind the Google / YouTube deal

Was just reading Mark Cuban's blog, btw I think he's a great business and BY FAR the best owner in the NBA, and he posted up a very nice post that stirs up a lot of controversy. It's a re-print of a post on the "Pho List", of which I'm not familiar, but it seems pretty exclusive. Here's a nice juicy paragraph (there's lots more but gotta like this one)

Can they even get away with this? This is pretty nuts, goes against that great Do No Evil by suing encouraging other companies to get sued while you're "protected". Anyways what you guys think of Mark Cuban's post? Pretty serious aligations, but not proven as of yet. Post your thoughts.
