TV Time - NFL Draft

Since I'm bored and watching TV, I'm going to recount what I've watched for the last 30 mins, and since I'm a sports fan it's ESPN. Yep they talked a bit about the NFL Draft and nfl draft prospects like Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell, some highlights from all the final regular season games in the NBA, and other scores and highlights from the NHL. I linked an interesting listing of the top 100 picks, worth a read.

Also the True Life on MTV is decent for once, it's about addiction to Crystal Meth, crazy.

Alright back to watching TV,

-Steve

Who here hasn't seen RockStartUp yet?

Most of you guys know of Payperpost through my blog, I've done some work for them and find them to be an awesome company. They really look out for their posties and they fun, young and creative. One of their crazy ideas was to film a documentary on the startup of their show called RockStartup. It's an online reality show that's filmed in HDTV/ipod formats, put on YouTube, etc, that chronicles the startup of the Payperpost company through Ted Murphy, the president/CEO and the rest of the crew at PPP. His persona in the show is the Murphman, and he's a funny guy, from throwing up eating pizza to participating in the Postie Patrols it's great. I've loved the show because it's a good mix of showing behind the scenes at Payperpost along with the fun and side stuff going on, such as the toy drive, Vegas and the reverse postie patrols. I don't know if there's an episode that's my favorite, but I like how Episode 6 goes, showing the ups and downs.

Here's the YouTube video if you haven't seen it, check it out it's worth it.

Honestly check it out if you haven't, it's worth it!

Enjoy,

-Steve

Internet or Super Bowl?

Since I'm going to talk about the Super Bowl on my other blog (Link Here) I figure I might as well talk about what people do when not watching the Super Bowl. I was flipping the channels during half-time, and all I could see was junk on the other channels, well I saw re-runs on MTV, figure skating on ESPN and I gave up and went upstairs for a bit. Were you guys on the internet? Did you guys watch the game at all? Post your stories.

Btw I thought the best commercial was the robot one by GM, simple yet effective. What was yours?

Opinion Piece - Will the Internet take over TV?

Since it's a nice Sunday afternoon in New York and I'm stuck inside the good old LIU library making some extra $$ on the side I might as well share my opinion on TV in the Internet age.

Since television is a medium that's been around for a solid 50 years, and with the internet only becoming really popular in the last 10-15 years, it's amazing how the Internet will either bring tremendous improvements or might even spell it's downfall. More and more people are connected to the internet, TV viewership is down among the 18-49 group, more people are turning to YouTube and iTunes for their TV shows or user generated content. This may spell the doom for TV as we know it, however I've seen some TV networks be proactive and make efforts to save their butts.

With some of the newer shows such as Heroes there's an extensive web tie-in with the show, so that people can do research, watch clips and do more than just sit in front of the TV for an hour. Also, some networks are letting you watch the show you missed a day later or after the show, such as ABC. I think these things are what's going to save television, since gone are the days when television is the only good medium in town.

This post was inspired by the Bill Gates comments HERE. Nice interesting read on the subject, since many of you will agree/disagree with the billionaire.

As per usual, post your thoughts and comments,

EyeTab - Web 2.0 TV info for those who don't like listings

I know I don't got much time to watch TV or find out what's going on with my favorite shows that I may have missed. However now with the whole Digg/Web 2.0 concept there's an easier way of getting TV news and finding out the best of what's on TV. EyeTab brings out the best things of Web 2.0 apps, methods such as voting, submitting, comments, etc, to TV News. It's like Digg for TV. It's Everything TV: News, Reviews and More, the one place for everything. It's got a nice layout and as the community grows it's going to be a really great site, as it already has some nice news for those TV addicts.

Check it out and post your thoughts, seems like another good find,

Random 1am Post : Saddam, HDTV's and Fifa'06

Yep just got finished playing a marathon of Fifa'06 with my friend Carter, man that's a great game, and we're nearly the same skill wise now so it's pretty interesting who can pull it off and etc. It sure beats spending money doing nothing on a Friday night, lol.

By now everyone's heard that Saddam will be executed and there's been confirmation that the deed had indeed been done a few hours ago. There's various news reports but I was pointed out on Digg to the Wikipedia Page on Saddam's death, it's really interesting to see it changing every 5-10 mins. I have my personal views on the whole war but Saddam was a bad man and probably got what was coming to him.

Lastly before I head out here's a nice comparison of 1080i to 1080p, which may confuse some people. I won't spill the beans of the article but if you're looking into HDTV it's worth a look. Check out the link HERE

Alright I'm off to relax,

Rockstartup.com Puzzle Piece

You guys know I'm a fan of the Rockstartup.com, come on who isn't a fan of rockstartup with Ted going around the US trying to promote and bring Payperpost from an infant company into a giant consumer generated media powerehouse. It's a pretty riveting reality show that might impress you, might make you laugh or make you wonder what the hell these guys are up to sometimes? Check it out at http://www.rockstartup.com. Oh yea they're having a contest to promote it so if you get all the pieces you can get $1000, I'm way too lazy (as per usual) so enjoy the piece and good luck.

Just got in to Montreal! - Cable vs Satellite?

Just got home, man it's always great to be home, no matter how messy or what shape it's in. Its crazy, my brother got a new car, my parents just got a new dog (my old friend Buddy passed away during late September) and things have been good. I'm just relaxing, some friends are going to drop by and I'm going to unpack/claim my room in a bit. The drive from Maine was long but it was beautiful, very scenic, I couldn't live there but it's always nice to get out of a city for a bit, I think New York was getting to me.

Anyways I'm also debating what I should get for my parents for Xmas. We've been using an Antenna for years, but I'm thinking of getting the either Cable or Satellite. I think Cable's a better option however, since it's like cheaper and they don't care about movie channels too much. Also I don't want them to be outside turning the freezing antenna in the middle of the winter.

Ah decisions decisions, k I'm gonna go relax, more later!

I'm alive, just barely

I'm nearly 100% done with the semester. I don't have any classes or major papers to hand in but once I give in my End of Semester folder with all my evaluations, injury reports and random things for my clinical class I AM DONE. It's been crazy last couple of days with school, 10 pages papers and all.

On Tuesday night I stay up the WHOLE night writing my paper, yes I started at 10:30pm from my job, went home at 12, then continued writing on only Red Bull and munchies until 7:45am. However I wrote my 15 page paper (came out to be 16) and managed to live another day.

My friends are coming down Friday night to grab me and get me home, so I'm looking forward to that and I'm happy, however I still gotta go to work and finish that folder.

More news later, I've been trying the TVUPlayer at work, it's been crappy on my network, anyone else try it?

Rockstartup Episode 3 is up!

It's pretty funny since I'm at the library I can't really watch the episode of my favorite online show but I'm just going to write about it and post it up so that when I get to my nice expensive computer at home I can see it in all it's HD glory. Ok sorry for the run-on sentence but I'm a big fan of RockStartUp.com being a big Payperpost guy and it's take on reality tv. Someone please let me know what's going on? I can see from the front image I see Veronique with the Vitamin Waters that she had her confessional.

So check out the video via YouTube and let me know whats up before I get home at 12.

Actually watched TV tonight, surprised about the level of Interactivity

I actually watched the show on NBC called Heroes and I was surprised at actually how good it was. I gave up on TV due to time constraints but I was enjoying the show. A little bit of Sci-Fi, a little bit of Drama, an intense story that's a huge mistery, makes for some pretty good stuff.

Anyways I was surprised at the website for the show. Before I even was watching it my friend was showing me the website and the bio's of the characters and a bunch of other stuff, pretty cool to be honest. Anyone out there watch it? It's not that bad.

To visit the website you can see if off NBC.com at http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/. It's even got a good URL, look at that.

Alright time to relax.

A new strategy for DVD releases, Fox going to release a DVD for 24, the TV show, the day after it airs

Sorry for the long title but this is pretty interesting news. Since everyone gets a lot of episodes on Bit-Torrent while waiting for the DVD versions to come out they're trying to undercut that and release the DVD of the show the same week. Yep the same week of the TV broadcast, which is usually Sunday/Monday they're releasing the DVD on Tuesday. It'll be interesting to see the sales since a lot of people get the season box sets or just download them anyways on Bit-Torrent/P2P networks.

Anyways check out the full story HERE and post your thoughts

Free TV on the internet!

Just saw this article on Digg and I've been watching it for about an hour so I thought I'd share with you guys. ChooseAndWatch.com is a free site bringing live streams of online TV channels. It's got ESPN (not a local feed since I compared it to my TV), CNN, BBC, Fox8, etc. In total it's got like 250 channels, not so bad. I warn you tho there is some adult content, so for some it might not be suitable but overall it's great since it's free online TV with no registration/passwords required.

Check it out at ChooseAndWatch.com.

Pinks - Drag Racing Fanatics on SpeedTV

This post is sponsored by speedtv.com

If you live in a decent urban center, like Montreal, then you've most likely had friends who've dragged raced or soupped*-up their cars. My friends only had Honda Civics and Acura Integras but then we were only 18-19, lol, so racing wasn't the greatest. Well speedtv has a show called Pinks where they show you some of the best Drag Racing Clips. It's on that all-day marathon I wrote on my muscle, the Muscle Car Marathon of Pinks on November 23rd and it's going to be followed by the introduction of Pinks All Out. If you've seen a drag race and love it you should check it out. Here's a little video to spice up your appetite.

Enjoy!

Muscle Cars Marathon on Speedtv.com

This is a sponsored post by speedtv.com

Muscle cars are great, my uncle has a Barracuda and I've always loved it when he takes me out in it. I don't watch much TV but I'm definetly going to take a look at SpeedTV.com's Muscle Cars Marathon, since I've always liked looking at them. To get into the spirit of muscle cars I'm going to show off my puny muscles, lol.

Here's my muscle for the Muscle Cars Marathon.

Enjoy!

My opinions on the Ab Lounge 2

Normally I don't talk about fitness equipment since I keep this blog tech focused but I work as Athletic Trainer and am an athlete so I know about working out so whenever I see an ab product on TV I usually cringe. I saw the ab lounge on TV earlier and I was like, c'mon, a chair that does pretty much situps for you. I don't know about it, sure it make motivate some people to do some Abs, but you're much better off getting an ab workout and doing various exercises. Maybe it's a great value for someone who doesn't want to do all that but it's not the best way to get abs. Sure it may get you some, but you don't have to spend $99 for it. I guess to each his own.

Alright there's my 2 cents.

Thanks,

-Steven
