Afternoon Digg Roundup
Thursday, January 18, 2007
Yep it's that time again, a quiet, snowy afternoon in Brooklyn and no class until the evening, leaving me to surf the net and post my favorite news from around. There's a good variety of articles on Digg, from Ubuntu to STD vaccine's, so I'll post my 2 favorite pieces for the afternoon.
The first is from Time.com, and it speaks about 10 states making it mandatory for girls to take an STD Vaccine against HPV. Pretty interesting debate being sprung up, is it worth to force all the girls to take it, or make it a choice and worry about the consequences if they contract it somehow still. Personally I'm all for the vaccine being mandatory, but I understand how some people could object.
The second is for gamers via 1up.com, which is a large gaming portal, and it asks the question, How Would You Fix Xbox Live?". I'm not on Xbox Live due to the connection at my dorm, but I don't think there's that much to fix, it's pretty much the best online multiplayer network amoung the 3 consoles, and they're always updating it and bringing more content so I don't have much to bitch about. Anyone have any gripes?
Then here's a little add-on for Firefox users. IF you have to access an FTP, why not have better management through Firefox? There's a nice Add-on called FireFTP, and it could make life simpler for those webmasters. I'll give it a run through tonight and post some thoughts,
Alright enough for now, post your comments and thoughts as always,
-Steve

New Years is coming soon, do you have a resolution?
Wednesday, December 27, 2006
When I was with my friends last night they were all talking about what they were going to do for New Years and it had me thinking, do I have any New Years resolutions yet? (Btw I'm spending New Years at a club with some close friends and an open bar, haha) I think it's always good to have some goal or something you want to achieve, and making it come true is always something nice. Last year I achieved my goal of finding a decent girlfriend (even if I broke up with her, lol) so that's the first time I accomplished one of the goals that I remembered.
This year however I'm going to do it different, and I'm going to broadcast my New Year's resolutions for you guys here, on the blog. There's a site called 10millionresolutions.com which advertises your resolutions to the entire world. My first one is HERE, and it's to break 4:00 in the mile this year, I'm 20 seconds off but I want to aim high so I can really work at it. It's cool since they show your goal on the front page, mine is 601102, you need to complete a quick 1 min survey tho, but once you're finished it's all good. Hopefully posting it up here will help me maintain the goal, which is always good motivation.
Here's a pic from their site, hope it helps you, or at least make you laugh, lol
What are your resolutions? Anything yet or you going to wait till New Years? Lemme know,

Stomach issues?
Thursday, December 21, 2006
I don't know why but I've had some stomach issues in the past and they led to I.B.S. (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and I wasn't a happy camper so to speak. I asked a friend who had gone through it for help and he told me about a product he used recently. It's Digesthelp IBS Remedy and it's a non-pharmaceutical way of dealing with IBS. Might help you where other drugs have failed.
check it out and lemme know if it helps,

Another option when shipping for vitamins
Thursday, November 09, 2006
Since you all know I run track and light weights as part of my routine most of you guys wouldn't be suprised I take some vitamins to supplement my diet. I don't touch the weight lifting supplements since I'm still an NCAA athlete and a lot of those are banned. However for me I need my supplements in order to keep myself healthy from the great choices I have at the LIU caf and since I've had hip surgery a Joint supplement (Chondritin, Glucosamine and MSM) was recommended to me as well. Anyone involved in sports and lifting should check out the Vitamins and supplements available at CheapVitamins.com, it's an easy way to get what you need, and the prices are great. I've visited CheapVitamins.com and found their selection to be pretty good and helpful for me. Check them out if you need that extra help with your diet or that push when you lift.
Thanks,
-Steve
