Google and Youtube = gootube?
Monday, October 09, 2006
Even if the news is already a couple of days old it seems everyone is talking about the rumoured acquisition of Youtube by your friend Internet giant Google. Is this good news? Probably, since google likes giving away good free stuff and will most likely keep most of the good things about Youtube such as easy of upload and speeds, etc. But if Google buys it I have a feeling that the DRM police, aka the RIAA and the MPAA, will crash down and outlaw a lot of the content on Youtube. I don't know for sure but I can't see how the big media companies could allow this to go on for so long and have Google profit instead of how it is now with Youtube barely making anything. Anyways that's my 2 cents for the afternoon, more later.

Whatever google wants, google will get, just watch, they're buidling data centers everywhere it seems these days and Youtube has that Level3 Communications pipe just for itself
