Nvidia crapping on Microsoft Vista for nForce users
Thursday, February 01, 2007
I'm an nForce4 user (DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra) and have generally kept up with the drivers since I like keeping my comp up to date but after hearing these allegations on the Aggravated Gamers Blog I'm not too happy. Seems like nVidia hasn't released any drivers for nforce boards (4,5,6 included), and that they've stopped supported nForce 1,2 and 3 boards. My nforce 2 at home is QUITE capable of running Vista, great job on the support nVidia. Maybe I should go back to ATi, it's just too bad the ATi motherboards weren't up to par until now, seems like I might have to make a switch.
Anyways visit the blog and post your opinion, should nVidia support the older users, and why haven't they released proper drivers?

DoJ subpoena's AMD and nVidia over graphic card price fixing
Saturday, December 02, 2006
Pretty interesting post out of the NY times online edition (it's rounding the major tech news sites as well) where they've said that the Department of Justice has subpoenaed AMD (who bought ATi) and nVidia. They haven't made any allegations but I'm sure something's going to pop up. What you think's going to happen. I always thought high-end cards were priced a little high for me but maybe the DoJ sees the competiting price points as anti-competition or something.
Anyways here's the NY Times article HERE and another from TechNewsWorld HERE. You bought a graphics card recently? You think the price was fair? Post your thoughts!

Long Day, all way and no play
Thursday, November 09, 2006
Taking a timeout at the library to write some blog posts, it's pretty quiet so I can do what I wish. I don't have track this week so I'm not as tired, however I've been doing extra hours for Athletic Training so I can get some extra cash. I miss running/lifting weights but I'll get back into it 2morrow.
In the news yesterday were the release from NDA of the Geforce 8800GTX reviews and the nVidia 680i SLi motherboard chipset reviews. Those 2 seem to be forming a potent combo, it'll be nice to see what the guys in Red come up with to counteract it. I'm not doing anything upgrade wise for a bit, since I need to save up my pennies, but it's always nice to see this level of performance, especially since my 2005fpw needs a good GFX card to drive it at 1680x1050.
Anyone here going to get some new hardware? what you looking at? the latest and greatest or a nice X1900XT 256mb that's around 200$? Post your thoughts
